Camembert with Language

In rugby, a 'try' is a goal. You can argue about a 'touchdown' hyping football into the age of space travel - a game for the future - but you either get a 'goal' or not. 'Try' seems to imply you didn't necessarily accomplish anything.

Cricket makes about as much sense as rugby. Many numbers and names that are foreign and English. Why do they hate freedom so much?

And 'about' what are you going 'round'?

Trips with work may be slowing down. The peak season is past, and where is this summer, really? Only at 45 degrees South latitude. C-town is at ~42N, I think. And January would seem something like July. But maybe if we look at the winds and the ocean currents... Yeah, that makes a little more sense. Time off now and again is good for the soul anyway.

Pictures next time...

hey champ. really enjoy January 9th, as well as Animal Lover on 12.30 - precious. thanks so much for sharing. you don't need me to tell you how well you write.

so in DC, when we drink shots, we touch the tiny glass to the bar before swallowing the super-powered potions. why? if you ask the natives (as if there are any in this transient quagmire-perhaps we go with city veterans?), they mostly respond - pretentiously, of course - that the action symbolizes thoughts of close friends, not able to join you in a drink at the time. i guess you could equate it to the yuppie version of "pouring out a lil' liquor for my homies."

hope you find what you are looking for, Charley. keep the posts coming; you have folks on this side of the globe wondering after you.

tapping my shot glass on the bar,
Chris

ps- great photos!

Forcing my eyelids open to continue looking at these ever increasingly foreign sybols on my computer screen at 3:45 am, I am suddenly surprised. Feeling similar to entering a clearing and seeing something wonderfully unexpected, like a wonderful little stream or a doe and her fawns, but tonight at 3am I stumbled upon a dear friend's blog. Rarely does this machine bring any satisfaction or inspiration. It has been a year since last we had a drink together and thats too long. It seems as though your journey continues to be an iteresting one and I will continue to be in touch. For now I must sleep.
Your Friend,
Dustin
Oh, by the way
